Focus on the people...

I cant do much to change the world around me...

I vote what I feel is important. I believe the on-demand killing of unborn children is a horrific crime. I also believe that woman should have the right to decide if they want a child or not if they are raped and become pregnant. I'll vote for anyone who feels this way or anywhere close.

But, these are sidebar issues...

Its easy to get off track in this world, with stories about our president lying to us, congressional corruption and sleaze, homosexual marriage, the stupid focus on illegal immigration and so on...its easy to get upset and angry at the world. Its easy to lash out...

But, we have to remember, that us saved people are supposed to be the light of this dying world.

I feel that most of what people see of Christians on TV, or I should say those who call themselves Christians is a constant barrage of what is wrong with people, negativity, Christian-victim garbage, constant hypocrisy and angry rhetoric. This is the fake christianity. Pharisaical Christianity. Just as bad as the "anything goes" super liberal Christianity...

The humbleness and dying to self is completely gone, in its place is mis-directed pride and arrogance. I almost let myself get dragged into that mess....but no more. I highly doubt that Christ is going to judge me based on whether I did enough to stop homosexual marriage, or illegal immigration, or even abortion. He's going to judge me based on whether I upheld his name and followed his command.

I must focus on the people....if someone was to meet me, they'd know in an instant that I was a born-again Christian. I want to pro-claim to everyone that Christ is the only Saviour.....His love is in me..I try my darndest to follow his word everyday. But at the same time, I realize I'm far from perfect and can do NOTHING on my own...

Christ is King and is coming soon....its really all that matters.

Beware the fake christian!!

The fake Christian.....

I see this person everywhere. TV, radio, books, blogs, everywhere....

How you can usually tell that someone is a fake Media Loving Christian:

Claims to know Jesus, but rarely, talks about Him.

Uses Jesus as some sort of Amulet instead of recognizing that Christ is almighty and everything that happens is in His hands regardless of their actions.

Refuses to treat fellow men and women the same regardless of class, color or creed.

Refuses to state that something is right or wrong, but rather in terms of what race or class the victim or perpetrator is instead.

Highlights the race of the person doing the wrong rather than the fact the person is doing wrong.
Blames it on the system rather the individual person or persons own actions.

Ignoring Scripture that contradicts their statements in order to get a certain warped view across.

And so much more.

Look at some of the great men and women of the Bible. Look at their stories. Right is right, wrong is wrong. There is no hypocrisy, no double standard.

There are so many of these people, caught up in wordly events and politics, refusing to expend that same energy in helping their fellow man, studying God's word, praising God, talking about Christ and helping those in need, what a true follower of Christ does. These people need to wake up! Get back to the Word!

And no, telling someone what to do or what not to do is not the same as actually helping that person.

Christian repsonse to illegal immigration...

I've talked alot with conservatives about the illegal immigration issue.

The problem is that half a million people illegally cross our borders in order to find work in this country, since theirs has no opportunity.

Coming here illegally to find work...does this make them a criminal? A man doing what he has to do to take care of his family, trying to find work. Not killing or stealing, but working in construction, in restaurants or doing horrific jobs us spoiled and elitist Americans wont do. But they are criminals for doing it! Now this is the conservatives' favorite statement. They are criminals because they came here illegally!! Did you know there millions upon millions of people here who have overstayed their visas? No big outrcy over them though, it is selective outrage, one of the worst hypocrisies. A favorite tool of the conservatives.

Another argument.."they are bringing diseases here that were eradicated years ago" Really? I havent heard anything about polio these days. Wait!! Didnt we get vaccinated from those things when we were little chaps? Hmmm...are these scare tactics?

It used to be illegal for a black man and white woman to get married in many states. If they did, they were criminals. Maybe a change in the law is in order? If someone wants to work to provide for their families, they should be allowed to do it.

I think amnesty is in order. Conservatives say amnesty is rewarding those breaking the law. Again, selective outrage. I could give so many examples where this country's judicial system have given petty criminals a break. Even their beloved conservatives.

My opinion is that most people who are against any type of amnesty program are actually racists. Not the violent kind...but still racist. "We cant have too many of these brown folk in this country. "

My idea? Well, of course its not very popular. I think we should make our border secure. The people who are here, put them on a path to citizenship. Stop the exploitation of our fellow humans. Document who is here immediately. You commit a serious crime? Immediate deportation. Easy peezy, yep 'n' easy.

But this wont work. Conservatives cant stand an amnesty program. They permit Bush to lie about our reasons for going to war, but not amnesty for humans. One section doesnt want amnesty because of their own hatred. The other section because they want a steady stream of cheap labor. I honestly think they are both working together. Sadly, it appears money is the root of NOT providing humane treatment.

I'm so glad this isnt my world. I live in this country, but I dont belong here.

But wait here's another conservative argument, "it's not fair to the other people who are waiting in line legally." Of course not! But you know what? Life aint fair, get over it. This is America, we do what we want.

And one last one, "They keep speaking Spanish and won't learn English." True, we can make it so that English is the official language and that is a good idea, they should learn the language of the majority. That's easy to do, but the president wont do it. It's so easy to do, but they won't. Why not? Who knows...........

I recently read a story in our local paper about how a vast majority of these "illegals" are converting to protestantism from catholicism. Wow!!!! From a religion of idolatry to the one and true God. It is this point that the Christian needs to be concerned with.

I love calling the bluff of these self proclaimed conservative christians. They say outrageous blatantly hateful things about people, then when called on it, wrap themselves in the bible and complaining that the "liberal media" attacks them. What a cop out. I'm about as tired of writing this as I am of hearing that argument.

Quit trying to disguise your sin of hate and discrimination.
